The Michigan Recycling Coalition's work with the Snyder Administration paid off! Not only will the Department of Environmental Quality be fully resourced to oversee and support the materials management industry, $15 million will be available annually to support county-based planning and provide grants to support recycling initiatives across the state.

This is an important milestone for Michigan recyclers, certainly worth some celebration. But it's also time to look forward and begin to identify and nurture ideas, initiatives, programs, and services that will move the needle on recycling and organics management.
